When Hank (Hamilton) Ford was born with a pelvic neuroblastoma in 2007, his parents were told to move him to Columbia University Medical Center so he could receive the most expert care and treatment. Freddi and Michael Ford never regretted that they did.
After four cycles of chemotherapy and several surgeries, large and small, Hank was considered a healthy child by the time he was a toddler. Hank was clearly always a fighter and very determined.
He and his family immediately went to work for Hope & Heroes. They participated in several Annual Walks, spoke at events, and contributed their time and financial support to the cause. Together, they have tried to provide hope and inspiration for families facing a diagnosis of childhood cancer or blood disorders.
Hank is now 14 years old, stands 6’2”, and is an outstanding student, basketball player, and human being. He is a hard-working, hard-playing leader and is respected and well-loved by his friends and family, including his two brothers, Michael and Abraham, and his sister, Scarlett.
